Company Presents Comprehensive Best Offer to Settle

At the request of UFCW Local 1546, on Wednesday, January 22, Home Chef presented the bargaining committee with its Comprehensive Best Offer to Settle towards a contract with our Bedford Park team members. This is a good Offer, with the company proposing significant wage investments and maintaining your affordable healthcare and retirement benefits.

Offer Highlights

Our Offer will put more money in every team member’s pocket while preserving your benefits.

  • Wages: If ratified, wage increases would begin with the first Sunday following ratification. So, for instance, if the offer were ratified during the week of February 5, 2025, wage increases or other wage investments would be effective beginning for hours worked on February 9, and your paychecks would reflect these investments starting February 28.
  • $.50/hr wage increase at ratification with $.50/hr contractual wage increases in year 2 and year 3 of the contract.
    • More than 6% to 8% in hourly wage increases over the life of the contract, depending on role and classification.
  • There are a small number of “above scale” employees that would receive a combination of lump sum bonuses and/or smaller increases until the underlying rate for their classification catches up to their above scale rate.
  • Healthcare and Retirement Benefits: Would continue with Company sponsored healthcare and 401(k) retirement benefit plans.
  • Ratification Bonus: If the bargaining unit ratifies this Comprehensive Best Offer to Settle by February 5, 2025, members of the bargaining unit would receive a $250 ratification bonus. Eligible team members must be on the Company’s payroll as of January 22, 2025, and as of the time the bonus is paid.
  • The Offer also incorporates numerous tentative agreements that the parties have reached on other terms and conditions of employment.

Your Voice Matters

We have listened, and this Offer is a direct reflection of the Company’s intention to significantly invest in our team members through increased pay and competitive benefits.

Next Steps

  • Review the Offer. Copies of the proposal are available from a member of management. Review the Offer carefully.
  • Ask Questions. If there is anything you do not understand, ask questions. Your management team is ready to explain how the Company’s proposal would impact your paycheck. Be sure to review all available information to make an informed decision.
  • Consider the Offer. Ask yourself: Does the Company’s Offer reward team members with substantial and ongoing wage investments and benefits?
  • Ask the Union to Let You Vote on the Offer. If you agree that the Offer is a good offer ̶ rewarding team members with more money in your pocket ̶ let the union know you want to vote on the proposal as soon as possible.

We hope you see this Offer as a sign of our commitment to making meaningful investments in our Home Chef team members, and that you will consider voting to approve the Offer if given the opportunity. Thank you for your dedication and hard work throughout this process. Together, we can move forward with an agreement that rewards you, supports your family, and ensures the continued success of our business.
